A short, beautiful walk to a small waterfall and amazing swimming hole that becomes extremely popular in the warmer months.

This heavily trafficked walk starts from the car park at the end of Obi Lane South in Maleny.

A very short stroll along the banks of the bubbling Obi Obi Creek brings you to Gardners Falls, nestled among the rainforest.

The falls flow into a beautiful rock pool, which becomes a popular swimming spot during the warmer months, with a number of rope swings.

Track: A mix of pathed and graded tracks, the walk is well-signed and easy to follow.

Difficulty: The track is suitable for all fitness levels and is wheelchair accessible.

Direction: The track is an out-and back that returns the way it came.

getting there

The trail starts from the car park at the end of Obi Lane South in Maleny, 1.25 hours drive north of Brisbane.

The car park becomes very busy during the warmer months and fines are common for those who park illegally.

best time to go

The walk can be completed year-round.

If wanting to photograph the falls, it is recommended to visit during cooler months, when the walk is far less heavily trafficked or early in the day on warmer months.

This area is prone to flooding during or after rain, so be careful if visiting at these times. As always, be careful when swimming in natural rock pools – always check the water before diving and never swim alone.
