A very short hike with beautiful views of the Sunshine Coast coastline and wildflowers during spring.

This lightly trafficked hike starts from Havana Road East in Coolum (northern side of the mountain), with an alternative trail head at Kanooka Avenue (southern side of the mountain).

The track gradually ascends up a rocky path to the summit, through exposed grass heath and wildflowers, which bloom beautifully in spring.

While the summit is only 71m above sea level, the peak offers truly stunning and uninterrupted views of the coastline, which is only one kilometre away.

Coolum and Point Arkwright are visible to the south, as well as Mount Coolum, while Point Glorious and Mount Eerwah are prominent to the west.

Track: The track involves graded paths and is rocky in places. It is well-signed and easy to follow.

Difficulty: The track is suitable for all fitness levels and families and is the perfect beginner mountain. There are very few exposed areas on the walk.

Direction: This is an out-and back track that returns the way it came.

getting there

The trail starts from Havana Road East in Coolum (near the State High School), 1.5 hours drive north of Brisbane.

An alternative trail head is found on Kanooka Avenue (on the other side of the mountain).

Street parking is ample for how trafficked the walk is.

best time to go

The walk can be completed year-round, however is extremely exposed to the sun so would be hot during warmer months. It is advised to go earlier or later in the day.

Always check the Queensland Parks website for updates on track closures.
