Walk or cycle this pleasant section of the Moreton Bay Cycleway past the beaches of Scarborough and Redcliffe to the famous Redcliffe Jetty.
This heavily trafficked walk starts at Scarborough Beach Park in Scarborough, with an option to add on Bill Marsh Lookout (located slightly north) if desired.
The walk is a relatively easy stroll or cycle along the foreshore, with uninterrupted views across the bay to Moreton Island.
Scarborough Beach Park has picnic tables, BBQs, a playground, basketball courts and a giant chess board, while the beach is perfect for swimming.
For the kids (or the big kids), keep an eye out for Gollum’s door, located in the park.
From the park, follow the cycle way as it winds down to Redcliffe, passing Queens Beach, Osbourne Point, Rotary Park and the memorials of Anzac Point.
There are sealed footpaths along the entire foreshore, with ample space for pedestrians and cyclists.
The walk is fantastic at all times, but best at sunset or early morning.
Track: The walk consists of sealed footpaths and is easy to follow.
Difficulty: The walk is a relatively easy stroll suitable for all fitness levels, including those in wheelchairs (some assistance may be required at times). The walk is mostly flat, with only a small number of inclines.
Direction: This is an out-and-back walk that returns the way it came.
Remember, whenever venturing into the outdoors, practice the Leave No Trace principles and be considerate of others. This means: dispose of your waste properly, don't remove things or move things from their natural position and respect all wildlife. Also be sure to plan ahead and adequately prepare for any adventure.
