A lovely lookout with panoramic views towards Brisbane, the Lockyer Valley and across the Scenic Rim.
This lightly trafficked lookout is located beside the car park of the Cedar Block day-use area at the end of National Park Road in Ravensbourne.
The lookout offers panoramic views towards Brisbane, the Lockyer Valley and across the Scenic Rim. On a clear day, views extend as far as Mount Barney.
A nearby navigational disc identifies features that can be seen from the lookout.
Those looking to go for a walk can do the Cedar Block Circuit, also located at the day-use area, or can travel approximately 500m down the road to the Blackbean day-use area and do the Rainforest Circuit, Palm Creek Circuit and/or Buaraba Creek Track.
The day-use area has drop toilets, wood BBQs and both covered and open picnic tables. There is no camping or rubbish bins at the day-use area.
Track: There is no real track, with the lookout located beside the car park.
Difficulty: The track is suitable for all fitness levels.
Direction: This is an out-and-back track that returns the way it came.
getting there
The lookout is located at the Cedar Block day-use area at the end of National Park Road in Ravensbourne, approximately 1.75 hours drive west of Brisbane.
Parking is ample for how trafficked the walk is.
best time to go
The walk can be completed year-round.
