An idyllic, protected bay nestled among the surrounding forest, with wonderful views into Jervis Bay, and a popular spot for swimming, snorkelling and photography.

This heavily trafficked walk starts from the car park located at the end of Honeymoon Bay Road in Currarong on the Beecroft Peninsula.

A short walk from the car park brings you to a small yet beautifully picturesque and sheltered bay, nestled within the surrounding forest.

The calm waters and beach make it the perfect spot to spend a day relaxing, swimming, snorkelling or paddling. There are also incredible views out into Jervis Bay.

Note that the beach is not supervised by lifeguards, so caution is required when entering the water, and children should be supervised at all times.

Be sure to protect the natural beauty of the location and take all rubbish with you.

There are toilets and a picnic area located near the carpark.

Note that the area resides within the Department of Defence’s Beecroft Weapons Range, and may be closed for defence exercises during the week. You can call the Beecroft Weapons Range for more information or check their Facebook for updates on access.

The car park may also be closed when it reaches capacity.

This is a great location to pair with nearby Point Perpendicular Lighthouse and Currarong Rock Pools.

There is a nearby campground that is fully booked during the summer holiday period via a ballot system held each August. During other times of the year, it is typically only open on weekends and public and school holidays, operating on a first-come, first-served basis and requiring visitors to be fully self-sufficient.

Track: The trail involves graded, well-maintained paths, and is relatively flat. The track is well-signed and easy to follow.

Difficulty: The track is well-maintained and relatively flat, making it easy and suitable for all fitness levels. The site is wheelchair accessible, with assistance, via the access route within the camping area.

The beach is not supervised by lifeguards, so caution is required when entering the water, and children should be supervised at all times.

Direction: This is an out-and-back track that returns the way you came.

getting there

The walk is located from the car park at the end of Honeymoon Bay Road in Currarong on the Beecroft Peninsula, 3 hours drive south of Sydney.

The car park is ample but can become extremely busy during peak periods.

best time to go

The walk can be completed year-round.

The waters of the bay recede considerably at low tide, and while you can still swim, the location is best at and either side of high tide.
