Kamarun Lookout
Scenic Rim
Lamington National Park (Green Mountains)
A marvellous spot for a break or picnic, with views of the peaks and valleys surrounding Lamington National Park.
This moderately trafficked site is located on the outskirts of the Green Mountains section of Lamington National Park, at the end of Kamarun Lookout Road (10 kms prior to the O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat).
The lookout is the perfect spot to stretch your legs before or after a bigger walk in the park or have a picnic with near 360-degree views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
The site recognises the significant contribution of Romeo Lahey, who donated the site to the people in 1967 and was a strong advocate for having Lamington recognised as a national park, with a memorial plaque in the shelter and a directional plate.
Sunrise and sunset are particularly great times to visit the lookout.
Track: There is no real track, with the lookout being located at the car park.
Difficulty: The location is suitable for all fitness levels and is wheelchair accessible.
Direction: This is an out-and-back site.

This means: dispose of your waste properly, don't remove things or move things from their natural position and respect all wildlife. Also be sure to plan ahead and adequately prepare for any adventure.
